Mahogany cased brass pump with sliding military latch and brass plaque marked USA Hospital Department. Tubing and tips for both gastric lavage and enema. V W Brinkerhoff was a supplier to Union forces and wartime address was 88 Williams (1860-1862) and 131 William (1863-1868). Overall condition is excellent and missing only the mouth gag. Address label confirms is was produced during civil war period and brass plaque and sliding latches show it was produced for military use.
